In July we heard the sad news that Mark Welsh, Lincolnshire's Flood Risk and Development Manager, had died following a road accident in London. Some of you will have had the pleasure of working with Mark in the past, and will know that he was a thorough professional who made a valuable contribution to our field over many years. He was a charismatic and persuasive individual, and had a remarkable ability for building strong relationships with other organisations, bringing different people together for the greater good. He played a key role within the Flood and Water Management Group and helped raise the profile of both ADEPT and his own authority. He will be sorely missed by his colleagues and our thoughts go out to his family.
