Live Labs 2 is a three-year £30 million programme, funded by the Department for Transport and organised by ADEPT, to lead the decarbonisation of local highways across the UK.
Live Labs 2 Expo is the must-attend free conference for all involved in accelerating this transformation – demonstrating the tools, products, services and technologies already in development and setting priorities for the years ahead.
More than 200 UK local authorities and their commercial partners spend over £2bn on maintaining local road assets every year. The Live Labs 2 projects are leading the charge to put decarbonisation at the heart of local roads strategy and management.
Despite most UK public authorities declaring a climate emergency, to date little has been done to decarbonise the design, maintenance and renewal of highways infrastructure, meaning many will fall short on key climate commitments.
Live Labs 2 Expo will bring the Live Labs 2 projects together with their commercial and academic partners to actively encourage wider public and private collaboration and so embed local road decarbonisation in UK practice.
