Highways Doughnut Alliance – Journey to Sectoral Transformation
The Highways Doughnut Alliance brings together key actors from across the UK highways sector to explore how Doughnut Economics can guide a socially just and ecologically safe transition. Building on the Highways Doughnut Toolkit, the Alliance uses the Doughnut as a compass to understand the current state of the sector, map systemic barriers and outline practical steps towards a future where roads support both people and the planet. Two reports have been developed:
· Final report: Highways Doughnut Alliance – outlines the current state of the sector, key barriers to highways transformation, priority actions, and practical insights from building a cross-sector alliance.
· Sector transformation methodology – a guide to help organisations in any sector convene stakeholders, run collaborative workshops, and turn shared challenges into coordinated action.
