Autumn Conference programme now finalised!

The ADEPT Autumn Conference takes place on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st November at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester.

This year we are focusing on Devolution and Local Government Reform – the biggest shake up the sector has seen for 50 years?

With the government agenda to widen and deepen devolution, along with public sector reform and continued budgetary pressures, the local government sector faces the biggest shake up in 50 years. It will serve to stretch the sector, put further strain on already creaking services and challenge our ability to offer the best outcomes for our residents. In contrast to these challenges, the importance of Place continues to be high on government agenda whether it is housing, planning, economic growth, transport, net zero and environment, or skills.

We've got a fantastic line up of speakers including representatives from Manchester Youth Council and Parliament, MHCLG, Homes England, NISTA, Transport for the North, University of Glasgow, SOCITM and several LAs plus Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester.

The six workshops are now also confirmed:

  • Well managed water at the heart of thriving communities
  • The art of the possible: unlocking impactful public-private collaborations
  • Making neighbourhoods work in the context of LGR, devolution and the NHS 10 Year Plan
  • Investing in nature recovery
  • Highways resilience – how do we adapt our sector’s capability to manage extreme events, not in 2050 but right now?
  • The 2030 challenge – what do years of LGR upheaval mean for our highways carbon reduction commitments?

Join us for thought-provoking presentations, insightful panel discussions and practical workshops.
