Blueprint webinar - local action on climate

Local action on climate: too important to leave to chance?

The Blueprint Coalition - an influential group of local government organisations, environmental groups and research institutions - hosted a webinar on 19th May, which explored the question: 'Local action on climate: too important to leave to chance?'.

The discussion focused on the role statutory duties can play to enable local government to act locally on climate change.

The panel featured Cllr Adam Hug (Chair, LGA Local Infrastructure and Net Zero Board and Leader, Westminster City Council) who chaired the conversation between Louise Marix Evans (Director, Quantum Strategy and advisor to the Climate Change Committee), Victoria Marsom (Friends of the Earth), and Eamon Lally (LGA), each offering valuable insights into the potential framework for local climate responsibilities.

A Q&A session followed the presentations, where topics such as viability, local authority reorganisation, and community engagement were discussed. You can watch the webinar here:https://youtu.be/IGXpI9xgwwU?si=-mm3SoyfZT3o-eVK
